Browning named Clemmons Rotary Student of the Month for September

Spencer Browning was recognized on Oct. 6 as the Rotary Club of Clemmons Student of the Month for September.
In nominating Browning, West Forsyth High School stated the following:
Spencer Browning was selected because of his character, kindness, approachability and maturity.
Theatre teacher perspective: All around wonderful human being that makes everyone feel welcome. Great sense of humor to go along with a mature, loving personality!
Browning is an excellent student with a GPA 3.66 (weighted GPA) and ranks in the top 50% in a class of 563 students. He is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and a Crosby Scholar.
He is involved in several West Forsyth High School Drama Club activities, including serving as vice president and member of drama club board, improv leader for 11th and 12th grades, and West Forsyth Theater, with multiple productions per year and enjoys helping teach younger students. He is also a member of Key Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is involved with WSFCS Summer Enrichment Theatre and is a student athletic trainer.
Outside of school, Browning volunteers at Ardmore Baptist Church, including WAM (Worship Arts & Music), sign language and handbells teams, choir, technology team, plays the trumpet for the church orchestra, visits homebound members from church, and is vacation Bible school leader.
Other community involvement includes: THETA — an organization that promotes theater in Forsyth County, and provides scholarships, and annual awards ceremony for recognition of winners of all categories in WSFCS drama productions; Music & Arts Camp for Children, where he helps plan, create scenery, and choose music as well as being a group leader, helping children from all over Winston-Salem rotate through music, arts and missions’ rotations; Winston-Salem Bus Ministry; City Lights Ministries; and youth and children’s minister at West Side Baptist Church.
Browning is considering attending Furman University, Clemson University, Appalachian State University, N.C. State University, Wake Forest University or Wofford University.
He is thinking about majoring in health and exercise science, but ultimately would like to go to divinity school and go into the ministry.
