WINSTON-SALEM — Triad Honor Flight partnered with Novant Health this week to conduct pre-flight COVID-19 screenings for more than 140 veterans, caregivers, guests and organizers in advance of their upcoming flight to see the memorials in Washington, D.C., on Veterans Day.
On Nov. 8 and 9, Novant Health provided two days of scheduled pre-flight COVID-19 screenings at its drive-through testing location at Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem and at Novant Health Primary Care Lindley Park in Greensboro.
“We were proud to partner with Triad Honor Flight for their upcoming Veterans Day trip,” said Heather Egan, chief development officer of Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation. “As an organization, we stand united with our military and veteran community. In fact, more than 1,000 of our team members actually served in the military, and on any given day, one in 10 of our hospital patients are veterans. For all of our team members and foundation supporters, this partnership serves as a special opportunity to not only help keep our veterans safe, but to also honor their service and sacrifice.”
“We are so grateful to Novant Health for helping us with this mission,” said Alison Huber, executive director and passionate volunteer for Triad Honor Flight. “It certainly takes an ‘army’ to pull off this kind of flight, and we are doing our best to go above and beyond to keep everyone safe. We really appreciate what Novant Health has done to help make this trip a success.”
