RALEIGH — Following many weeks of negotiations between the House, Senate and Gov. Roy Cooper, a final budget has been released by the North Carolina General Assembly. The budget, which the governor has said he will sign, will be voted on this week in both chambers.

In addition to pay raises and bonuses for teachers and state employees, as well as historic investments in education, infrastructure and health care, the bipartisan budget includes key items that Rep. Jeff Zenger secured for his constituents Forsyth County.

  • $2.2 million for Shallow Ford Historical Site
  • $821,330 for Vienna Fire Department
  • $821,330 for Clemmons Fire Department
  • $650,000 for Lewisville Volunteer Fire Department
  • $255,000 for Salem Pregnancy Center

“This is a transformative budget that will bring over $4 million to Forsyth County for historic preservation, safety equipment, and the pregnancy center,” Zenger said. “I am very proud to have secured these resources for our community.”
