Rep. Zenger named 2021 Defender of Public Safety

Rep. Zenger has been named by the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association as a 2021 Defender of Public Safety. Following is the letter of recognition from New Hanover County Sheriff Ed McMahon, president of the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association.

Dear Representative Zenger,

On behalf of the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association, we offer our heartfelt thanks to you for your dedication to learning about, understanding and supporting critical law enforcement issues during the 2021 Session of the North Carolina General Assembly.

For your leadership and active support of the Association’s position on legislative bills and issues of importance to the sheriffs of North Carolina and to the citizens of our great State, the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association recognizes you as a Defender of Public Safety.

During the 2021 legislative session, the General Assembly considered numerous issues that had a direct impact on law enforcement and public safety in North Carolina. We appreciate your commitment to these important issues and for taking a leadership role in advancing the position of law enforcement on issues that impact your constituents and the State. As a result of your leadership, North Carolina’s sheriffs are better equipped to keep North Carolina citizens safe.

Again, thank you for your leadership and for standing with the sheriffs of North Carolina on important legislation. We look forward to working with you during the upcoming 2022 Session to continue keeping North Carolina safe and strong.
