Love is in their air at West Forsyth!
It’s the week of Valentine’s Day and even though school was in session Monday for the holiday, everyone still enjoyed it.
Principal Kevin Spainhour wants to remind parents and students of a few safety precautions. First, students are not allowed to order from food delivery services. Students who are caught doing this will be assigned after-school detention.
Also, Spainhour wants to remind students and parents that all buildings will be locked at 4 p.m., therefore students must be picked up by 4 p.m. each day.
Students are also not allowed to wear ski masks or headgear such as balaclavas covering their entire face except their eyes. All of this is to help maintain a safe campus for both staff and students.
To recognize Feb. 22 being a palindrome day, meaning it can be read forward or backward the same way, West will be hosting a Twin Day. This consists of dressing identical to another Titan as a celebration for this special day.
A few scholarships for seniors have opened up and all are encouraged to research them and submit them by posted deadlines. The Shallow Ford Foundation scholarship is open now, information can be found on the ShallowFord Foundation website. The Winston-Salem Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications; you can go to their website to find more information.
Yearbooks are now on sale. Make sure to order them before time runs out. Online orders can be taken at yearbookordercenter.com with the school code 10590. Cost for the yearbooks are $50 each.
Zephyr, the West Forsyth student newspaper, has posted Love Messages sent from one Titan to the other. To check out the love being spread through the breezeway, go to wfhszephyr.com.
