February is coming to a close next week, meaning the countdown to summer is already starting. With warmer weather rolling in, short sleeves and shorts are making an appearance. Spring sports are kicking off, including girls soccer, track and field, baseball, softball, boys tennis, boys golf, boys and girls lacrosse and sand volleyball. Let’s take a peek into the near future at West Forsyth.

Dresses and suits are about to be sold out everywhere because West Forsyth Prom 2022 is a go.

Seniors and juniors will be strutting into the Millennium Center in downtown Winston-Salem on May 14 for a night full of dancing, sliders and dessert bars.

One senior male and female will be crowned as king and queen based on student votes. A prom princess and prince from the junior class will also be crowned that night. Tickets are $35 each and will be sold at lunches closer to the date.

The ACT will be given at West on March 1 for all juniors enrolled in Powerschool. Additionally, there will be no school March 4, giving the Titans a short week.

The Titan Talent Show and Coffeehouse performance was a hit. Loads of students performed their hearts out and showed off a variety of talents. With tons of singing and dancing, the Titans put on a good show while also supporting the theater department and upcoming musical.

Huge news for all Titans and their families has arrived. A trip to Portugal, Spain and France through EF Tours will take place in the summer of 2023. This is an amazing experience for students to expand their knowledge and discover more about themselves and others. There will be an informational meeting today starting at 6 p.m. RSVP to the meeting at https://rsvp.eftours.com/9eufy3p.

There will be a “Marching Band Test Drive” for incoming Titan freshmen. This will be the inside scoop on marching band rehearsal and the instructors. This will help make an informed decision about joining the marching band next fall. Parents will be welcomed by current marching band parents to find out more about how marching band impacts a student’s life. This will be March 8, starting at 6 p.m. Registration must be completed by March 4, https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdmrZAXUbm5vLtIa7h5l33apOQD-u7DkXWLwwd3hSNoBFcqiA/viewform
