Meetings

The regularly scheduled council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 14, in council chambers.

The regularly scheduled Planning Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 15, in council chambers.

A special meeting of the Planning Board will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23 in council chambers.

Events

Leprechaun Hunt at the Village Lakefront — Now until March 18 — Meander along the Village Point GREENway and keep your eyes peeled for 13 mischievous leprechauns. Once you find them all, make your way to the end of the rainbow (Village Hall) to find a pot o’ gold (candy).

Clemmons Spring Medicine Drop event will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, March 21, at the Clemmons Fire Department, 5931 James Street. This will be a drive-thru event to dispose of expired, unwanted or unused pills safely.

E-Recycle has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Public Works Facility.

Lip Sync Battle will be held Friday, April 22, at Southwest Elementary School Auditorium at 7 p.m.

Spring Clemmons Community Cleanup will be held on Saturday, April 30. For more details and to register groups of three or more, go to Clemmons.org/cleanup

Public works

Leaf collection is complete for the 2021-2022 season. Leaf pickup will resume Oct. 1.

Limbs should be placed on the edge of your street by 7 a.m. on Monday morning of the following schedule between March and November.

East of Lewisville-Clemmons Road and Middlebrook Drive (Winston-Salem side) — second full week of the month

West of Lewisville-Clemmons Road and Middlebrook Drive (Tanglewood side) first full week of the month.

The 2022 spring bulk item pickup will begin on Monday, March 14 for residents on the west side of Lewisville-Clemmons Road. Bulk item pickup for residents on the east side of Lewisville-Clemmons Road will begin the week of Monday, March 21.

The Village of Clemmons no longer provides yard waste pick up for grass clippings. Please do not dispose of yard waste in residential trash or recycle carts. N.C. State Law (130A-309.10(F) 3) prohibits the disposal of yard waste (leaves, grass clippings, tree limbs, brush, untreated wood, etc.) in sanitary landfills.

Clemmons Farmers Market

Several Farmers Market vendors are offering a winter preorder and pick-up service on Fridays and/or Sundays. Visit Clemmons.org/farmersmarket for more details.

Easter Pop-up Farmers Market will be held Saturday, April 16, 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Opening Day of the Clemmons Farmers Market is Saturday, May 7, 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Stormwater

Staff will be completing drainage outfall inspections throughout the Village of Clemmons as part of the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s NPDES Phase II permit throughout the months of January, February and March from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Activities may include visual observations, photography, creek walking and water quality sampling, primarily at drainage pipe outlets into ditches and water bodies. All stormwater personnel will be wearing reflective vests, driving marked vehicles and carrying identification.

The “live stakes” free giveaway registration is open. Sign-up to receive free saplings in the form of “live stakes” to plant on stream banks on their properties at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040d45a9ab28a4f94-livestake. These “live stakes” will provide additional stream bank stabilization, and will assist with ecological enhancements.

Village of Clemmons Stormwater Best Management Practice (BMP)/ Stormwater Control Measure (SCM) owners shall have their third-party annual inspections completed by a qualified professional and submitted to the stormwater department by no later than March 31, at the end of the business day.

Property Tax Relief

North Carolina offers three targeted tax relief programs: Elderly/Disabled Exclusion, Disabled Veteran’s Exclusion, and Circuit Breaker. The deadline for submitting applications is June 1. More details are available at forsyth.cc
