Since 1996, the Lewisville Civic Club has provided scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the club continued to provide scholarships to graduating seniors.
The academic requirement is that all applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA and must have distinguished themselves in school organizations, activities and leadership/volunteer community service to the Lewisville community. Students may be home-schooled or attend any public or
private school within Forsyth County.
A $1,500 scholarship is given to each of three students. Applications are available from school counselors or on the club’s website at www.lewisvillecivicclub.com. The club’s annual golf tournament helps to fund the scholarships.
Other activities sponsored by the Civic Club are the annual Christmas Parade, candidates’ forum for local elections, donations to needy families, Boy and Girl Scout troops and the Blue Star Memorial plaque honoring veterans at Shallowford Square.
