The Advance Garden Club adopted the Healing Garden outside the Infusion Room at Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center in 2018.

The club’s mission is to provide a tranquil and beautiful outdoor space for patients to see while undergoing treatment.

Club members have worked tirelessly in an ongoing effort to provide an attractive and serene outdoor garden at Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center by:

• Providing assistance to the Clemmons Medical Center’s contracted landscape company with routine garden maintenance of weed control, pruning, deadheading and watering.

• Continuing to add new garden “decor” such as garden flags, bird houses, and simple art pieces to make the garden more appealing.

• Planting colorful annuals in the beds and decorative urns and then changing plants with the seasons of the year.

• Creating a monarch butterfly habitat in 2019 which was certified as an official Monarch Waystation by Monarch Watch (www.MonarchWatch.org).

The Advance Garden Club has received numerous letters and acknowledgments for their work in the Healing Garden not only from patients and their families but also from employees who have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the garden while on break or having a meal.
