The Kiwanis Club of Clemmons celebrated its 39th year on Saturday March 26.

Club members gathered at the home of current president Michael Watson and his wife, Dianna, at their home in Lewisville to mark the occasion.

A certificate of appreciation was presented to long-time member and Treasurer Barbara Schanker.

A check for $339.39 to the Clemmons Food Pantry was presented in honor of charter member Paul Matthews.

Matthews has been a dedicated supporter of the Food Pantry for many years.

Watson also presented Matthews with a personal commendation of a “Plank Owner,” a take on a maritime honor bestowed on original crew members of a newly commissioned ship.

The Kiwanis Club of Clemmons meets monthly on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. If you would like more information, contact membership coordinator Ina Beavers at thebeav1973@outlook.com.
