Autism Awareness Month
Book Burst Bash! — “Weight a Minute! Lessons a Family Learns Thru the Gift of Autism”
• Tuesday, April 19, at 3:30 p.m.
Meet local authors and autism advocates, R.V. and Marlene Kuser, as they share the inspiration behind their most recent book “Weight a Minute!, Lessons a Family Learns thru the Gift of Autism” (2020). Set in Winston-Salem, this juvenile fiction has been praised by Dr. Cynthia Briggs of Walden University for its “meaningful discussions” about autism and how “everyone can be a hero in their own lives.” For adults, teens and families, this book launch coincides with Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month. Autism Information and Community Resources (In-person indoors)
• Wednesday, April 20, from 3-5 p.m.
Lewisville Branch
Drop in to learn more about autism and community resources for those with autism and sensory processing disorders. Representatives from ABC of NC and the iCan House will be present to share information. Local authors and autism advocates, R.V. and Marlene Kuser, will also be available to talk about their books and work.

Child programs

Family Storytime / Music & Movement
During the month April, the library will be taking a programming break. Storytime will resume again soon. In the meantime, the library will have fun in-house activities and take-home crafts. Thank you for your patience.

Nature Notebooks
• April 1-22 (while supplies last)
Lewisville Branch
Pick up your Nature Notebook at the Lewisville Branch starting on March 19 (while supplies last). Participants will find plants that are native to N.C. in the wild and draw them. When they have drawn a plant in each category required, participants will bring their notebooks to the Lewisville Branch for a prize. Participants will have until May 31 to complete their notebooks. Each Nature Notebook comes with a packet of native wildflower seeds. Presented by Stormwater Smart of The Piedmont Triad Regional Council. Yoga for Beginners (In-person and virtual)

Location: Joanie Moser Park Shelter
Join in at the park or from home for two free yoga sessions to help uplift your mind and body during this stressful time. The class is facilitated by a local yoga instructor, Tracy O’Neill of YogaCentrix. Sponsored by the Friends of the Lewisville Library. Call 336-703-2940 for more information.

Color & Coffee (In person)

A morning to relax, color, be with others and enjoy a cup of coffee on the house. Coloring sheets, pencils and coffee as well as cocoa and tea will be available for participants. Call the branch at 336-703-2940 for more information.

Friends of the Lewisville Library Book Club (in-Person and virtual)

The Friends of the Lewisville Library invite all adults to participate in interesting discussions of timely titles. You do not need to be a member of the Friends to participate.
