Primary elections are right around the corner and to help our friends and neighbors get the information they need all in one place, the Clemmons Democrats will be hosting a Democratic Primary Election Candidate Forum at the Clemmons Library.

The event will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, at the Clemmons Library located at 6365 James Street in Clemmons and will include light refreshments.

This forum will feature all the local Democratic primary election candidates for whom Clemmons residents can vote on at the May 17 primary elections. This event is for those who want more information before the election, wish to meet the candidates and get to know them on a more personal level, and want to engage in healthy debate with other democrats about the future of our village, state and country.

The event will start promptly at 2 p.m. with a brief introduction, followed by a structured, timed question and answer for each candidate.  Immediately following this, attendees can enjoy social time with candidates and their neighbors while enjoying light refreshments. Michelle Barson, councilwoman and mayor pro tempore, will be serving as the hostess for the day and will be available for any Clemmons-specific topics you wish to discuss.

All Democratic primary candidates have been invited and featured guests include:

• N.C. House District 74 Democratic candidates Carla Catalan Day and Sean Lew

• Forsyth County Commission At Large Democratic candidates Dan Besse and Ted Kaplan

• WSFC School Board at large Democratic candidates Richard Watts Jr., Deanna Kaplan, Sabrina Coone-Godfrey and Kimberly Stone

• Forsyth County Clerk of Court Democratic candidates Denise Hines, Tina Flowers and John Snow
