Madison Spangler was recognized on April 20 as the Rotary Club of Clemmons’ Student of the Month for April.

Comment from West Forsyth: “Madison has been a devoted Titan even before she set foot on this campus. She has been active member of the many clubs we have at West, including being the president of the SGA. She has been inspirational to others because she has experienced health problems throughout her life and still achieves academic and community accolades. She is always there to help a fellow student or to support our mainly athletic events. She is unique because she is strong willed and uses her leadership qualities to inspire other students at West. She is a student that others can count on.”

Spangler was selected to represent West Forsyth in the city race relations forum and participated in the Rotary Club Speech Contest and represented the club in the district contest this year. She also spearheaded a fundraiser for the Make- A-Wish Foundation.

Spangler is an excellent student with a GPA of 4.13 and is in the top of her class of 540 students. She has been a member of National Latin Honor Society since her freshman year and was also accepted into the National English Honor society as a senior.

Spangler has been involved in several West Forsyth activities including:

• Student Government Association — public relations, sophomore year; vice president, junior year; president, senior year

• Member of the Key Club

• SGA representative/sophomore year

• Student election assistant in the 2020 N.C. general election

• Titan Trainer, where she helped freshmen on Orientation Day

Other school-related activities include yearbook editor-in-chief, senior year; president (consul) for Junior Classic League (JCL), junior year; and selected for the Superintendent Student Advisory Committee (SSAC), junior year.

Spangler is also on the Youth Leadership Committee for Make-A-Wish CWNC and has raised more than $10,000 for the foundation through many different opportunities since her junior year.

Spangler has also worked for Chick-Fil-A in Clemmons and Cindy’s Snow Creamery.

She plans to attend UNC Asheville and major in mass communications.
