Baseball team hosting CPC tournament semifinals, finals

West Forsyth will play host to the Central Piedmont 4-A Conference baseball tournament semifinals and championship games.

Good news for the third-seeded Titans, who won their first round game against Mount Tabor, 10-4, on Monday night and faced No. 2 seed Reagan in Tuesday’s semifinal.

No. 1 East Forsyth squared off against No. 4 Davie County in the other semifinal, with the winners meeting on Thursday in the championship game.

West finished the regular season 19-5 overall and 11-3 in the conference after splitting games against East Forsyth last week. The Titans were no-hit and lost 1-0 against the Eagles last Tuesday but bounced back in a big way and blanked East 12-0 on Thursday in the regular season finale.

The NCHSAA 4-A state tournament will begin next week.

Softball team seeded third in conference tournament

The West Forsyth softball team capped their regular season with a 16-6 overall record and 9-5 mark in conference play to nab the third seed in this week’s conference tournament.

The Titans blanked Mount Tabor 11-0 in Monday’s opening round and squared off against Davie in the semifinals on Tuesday at East Forsyth.

West hot a hot April, winning eight of 10 games with its only losses coming against conference rivals Davie and East Forsyth.

The NCHSAA 4-A state tournament will begin next week.

Girls lacrosse team picks up No. 8 seed for state tournament

The West Forsyth girls lacrosse team shared the Central Piedmont 4-A Conference regular season championship but fell just short in the tournament, losing to Reynolds 11-9 in the championship match last Thursday.

Reynolds is the only team to beat West this season, handing the Titans both of their losses.

West will open the state tournament with a 18-2 overall record.

The Titans picked up the No. 8 seed in the NCHSAA state tournament and will play host to No. 9 Charlotte Myers Park in the second round after receiving a first-round bye.

Boys lacrosse picks up state tourney bid

The West Forsyth boys lacrosse team kept their season going by getting the No. 17 seed in the state tournament and having a match against No. 16 Southwest Guilford on Tuesday night.

The Titans finished the regular season and conference tournament 10-10 overall after losing to Davie in the opening round of the CPC Conference tournament last week.

Tennis team advances to second round of Dual Team state tournament

The boys tennis team, champions of the Central Piedmont 4-A Conference, picked up the No. 2 seed in the West for the state Dual Team tennis tournament and blanked Matthews Weddington 6-0 in their opening round match last week.

They will square off against No. 7 Marvin Ridge this week.

Unfortunately for the Titans, none of their three teams doubles teams that qualified for last week’s individual regional tournament advanced to this week’s state championships.

Golf team’s season comes to a close at Regional

After finishing in third place in the Central Piedmont 4-A Conference tournament, the golf team competed in the Midwest 4-A Regional on Monday at Oak Valley Golf Club in Advance but did not advance to next week’s state championship.

The Titans finished ninth with a score of 314, 26 shots behind the winner, Reynolds.

Jack McCarthy fired a 5-over par 77 to finish as the top Titan in the field, tied for 24th place.

Mason Beshears and Zach Liu were right behind McCarthy with 78s and Daniel Stamey finished with an 81.
