The Village of Clemmons is now hiring for a public works facilities and landscape technician.
This employee will be responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and manual labor tasks in the general maintenance of public buildings and facilities and the landscaping of grounds at public buildings, facilities, parks and in rights-of-way.
The landscape vegetation maintenance of state and municipal rights-of-way includes the planting, trimming, pruning and spraying of flowerbeds and medians. Mowing and trimming of all public-owned property may also be assigned. The employee must have a Right–of-Way and Ornamental Spraying Certification within 12 months of employment and must have a CDL driver’s license within 12 months of employment.
Please note that a CDL driver’s license and an Arborist Certification are preferred but not required. Employee must be able to do other public works related tasks as assigned by the director of public works and director of operations.
A high school education or the equivalent is required.
Starting salary depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, short-term disability, holiday/vacation/sick pay, Local Government Retirement System and NC401(k).
