Bilton, Brawley, Cranford recognized as coaches of the year; Leah Meyers (offensive) and Morgan McDaniel (defensive) are players of the year in girls lacrosse, Lewis is pitcher of the year; Maguire is offensive player of the year in soccer

West Forsyth had a strong showing during the spring sports season and the Titans are well-represented on the all-conference teams in the Central Piedmont 4-A.

In girls lacrosse, West Forsyth had the Central Piedmont 4-A Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year — Leah Meyers and Morgan McDaniel respectively. Also, Coach Doug Brawley was named the girls lacrosse coach of the year in the conference and junior Harrison Lewis of the baseball team, who has already committed to play at North Carolina, was named conference pitcher of the year. Aislynn Maguire was selected as the offensive player of the year in girls soccer.

In addition to Brawley, Coach Scott Bilton of girls soccer and Sara Cranford of boys tennis were named Central Piedmont 4-A coaches of the year.

Brawley helped lead West Forsyth to an overall record of 18-3 and 11-1 in the Central Piedmont 4-A, tying it with Reynolds for first place.

In addition to Bilton, who helped guide the Titans to a first-place finish with an overall record of 15-6-1 and 12-0 in the conference, the Titans had six players make all-conference. They were: Raegan Williams, Hannah Hanes, Christy Lauffenburger, Lauren Colamarino, Kate Schaffer and Rosa Gonzalez.

Brawley led the girls lacrosse team to an overall record of 18-3 and 11-1 in the Central Piedmont 4-A, tying it with Reynolds for first place in the regular season.

In addition to Brawley being named the coach of the year, and Meyers and McDaniel being named the offensive and defensive players of the year, seven other players made all-conference. Those players are Alivia Gurley, Emily Brooks, Brooklyn Fox, Bailey Fox, Aaralyn Russell, Jaylah Gray and Emma Holowiti.

Cranford was named the Coach of the Year in boys tennis, helping the Titans to a 13-1 overall finish, not losing until the second round of the NCHSAA Class 4-A playoffs to Waxhaw Marvin Ridge.

The boys tennis players who made all-conference in the Central Piedmont 4-A were Luis Londono, Xavier Lopez, Gavin Lamb, Josh Lucero and Cameron Roth.

In baseball, Lewis wasn’t the only Titans’ player recognized. Payton Martin, Lucas Manning, Jack Vest, Patrick Showers, and Reid Withers also made the Central Piedmont 4-A all-conference team.

Coach Kevin Baity helped lead the softball team to an overall record of 19-8 and 9-5 in the Central Piedmont 4-A.

Four members of the softball team were selected as all-conference performers: Sydney Norton, Abby Hunter, Emily Mutter and Cate Etchason.

The West Forsyth boys lacrosse team finished 10-11 overall and 5-7 in the Central Piedmont 4-A this past season, led by first-year Coach Jacob Able. The Titans had two players — Charles Miller II and Ryan Macdonald — make all-conference.

In boys golf, Coach Kevin King had two players make the all-conference team in the Central Piedmont 4-A team. Those players are Mason Beshears and Jack McCarthy.

The boys track-and-field team, coached by Nathan Newsome, was led by Tyson Adams, who won the NCHSAA Class 4-A championship in the long jump. Fellow long-jumper Ethan White also made all-conference in the Central Piedmont 4-A.

Jaiden Hubbard of West Forsyth made all-conference in the triple jump and the boys 4×800-meter relay team of Colby Groce, Brandt Doty, Wesley Haggstrom and Dyllan McPherson, were all-conference.

On the girls track and field team, Genysis Howard made all-conference in the high jump as well as the long jump. Noelle Childs made all-conference in the pole vault, and Nashiya Smart made it in the shot put and the discus. Stephanie Hinojos also made it in the discus.
