Summer Reading Logs Due Aug. 20 by 5 p.m.
Friday, June 10 – Saturday, Aug. 20
Keep track of the books you read and the library programs you attend on a Summer Reading Log and earn the chance to win prizes. You can pick up a Summer Reading Log at the Lewisville Branch to keep track of the books you read and the programs you attend. For every three books you read or three programs you attend, you will earn one entry into the prize drawing. Prize categories are for youth, teens and adults. Return your logs to any branch by the end of Summer Reading (Aug. 20). You may also enter this information online by registering for Summer Reading on the library’s website: https://www.forsyth.cc/library

Hungry for an Adventure!
• June 1 – Aug. 31
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is super hungry… hungry for an adventure! During the months of June through August, children/families will be able to checkout the Very Hungry Caterpillar for one week and take photos of him exploring our community. Along with the caterpillar, participants will take home a photo scrapbook in which they can fill it with photos and descriptions of the caterpillar’s adventures to share with others. Sign up today and take the Hungry Caterpillar on his next adventure! Contact the Lewisville Branch at 336-703-2940 for more information or to sign up. Lego Zoo Contest
• July 18-30; entries due Aug. 1-26; voting Aug. 30, winner announced
Build a Lego Zoo and share it with our community. The zoo can be a replica of your favorite zoo or you can build something completely from your imagination. Drop off your creation at the Lewisville Branch between July 18 to July 30. The creations will be on display in the children’s department during the month of August to allow customers to view them and vote for their favorite model. All ages can participate. There will be a first, second and third place winner. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, Aug. 30, and will receive a small prize. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Lewisville Library.
Family Films on Friday

Teen programs
Teen Advisory Board Meeting
On hold until further notice.
Lewisville Branch Library’s Teen Advisory Board is made up of Lewisville Branch Library’s teen volunteers (ages 12-18). The board meets to discuss ways to improve the Lewisville Branch Library’s service to teens. The Teen Advisory Board helps to plan programs, create displays, and suggests resources that the library should purchase.

Yoga for Beginners (in-person and virtual)

Join in at the Lewisville Branch auditorium or from home for two free yoga sessions to help uplift your mind and body during this stressful time. Color & Coffee

Cupcakes, cupcakes and all sorts of cupcakes! Come hear the success story of Ava’s Cupcakes at the Lewisville Branch. Owner Michelle Spell will share the story of her passion for baking and how she came to start her business in New Jersey in 2011, her first North Carolina location in Clemmons in 2018, and her Winston-Salem location in 2019. Ava’s cupcakes gained national recognition in 2012 after winning a Food Network competition where it was voted as one of the best cupcakes in America by “The Daily Meal,” as well as featured on “NBC’s today” show and in “The Wall Street Journal,” “Bake,” and more. You won’t want to miss this second story in a series of three ‘Home Sweet Home’ stories. Registration is recommended. Lewisville Branch Reading Challenge
• Logs due by Dec. 10
• Winner Announced Dec. 12
Take the yearlong reading challenge for your chance to win a $25 gift card to Bookmarks bookstore. The challenge has two levels: beginner and aficionado. You can choose to read one or both challenges. Beginner entries are entered once. Aficionado entries are entered twice, and if you read both beginner and aficionado challenges, you’re entered three times to win. Submit entries by Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022. The winner will be announced on Monday, Dec. 12.
