Game 2 of Area 3 playoffs will be Tuesday night at Kannapolis at 7 p.m.

Ethan Chandler threw a four-hit shutout to lead Western Forsyth Post 522 Blue to a 2-0 win in Game 1 of the best-of-three second round series of the American Legion Area 3 Baseball playoffs.

It was the eighth straight win for Post 522 Blue, which improved to 16-4 overall.
Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday night at Kannapolis at 7 p.m.

Chandler struck out five and was backed by runs in the second and third innings. He allowed just two hits after the third inning.
Garrett Secrist drove in a run in the second inning with a lineout that scored Hayden Magaha, and Parker Lowe led off the third inning with a solo home run to center field to provide the final cushion.

Lowe and Graham Wagoner had two hits apiece to lead the offense.
