Hungry for an Adventure!

• June 1 – Aug. 31

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is super hungry… hungry for an adventure! During the months of June-August, children/families will be able to check out the Very Hungry Caterpillar for one week and take photos of him exploring our community. Along with the caterpillar, participants will take home a photo scrapbook in which they can fill it with photos and descriptions of the caterpillar’s adventures to share with others. Sign up today and take the hungry caterpillar on his next adventure. Contact the Lewisville Branch at 336-703-2940 for more information or to sign up. Customers can also email their photos to Raegen Luntz (luntzra@forsyth.cc), who will insert them in the scrapbook. Sponsored by the Friends of the Lewisville Library.

Lego Zoo Contest

• Aug. 1-26: Voting

• Aug. 30: Winner announced

Build a Lego Zoo and share it with our community. The zoo can be a replica of your favorite zoo or you can build something completely from your imagination. Drop off your creation at the Lewisville Branch between July 18 to July 30. The creations will be on display in the children’s department during the month of August to allow customers to view them and vote for their favorite model. All ages can participate. There will be a first, second and third-place winner. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, Aug. 30, and will receive a small prize. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Lewisville Library.

Advance Care Planning Workshop

• Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 1 p.m.

Do you have a health care power of attorney assigned? Do you have a living will? Join in at the Lewisville Branch to learn about the purpose and importance of having advance care planning in place. Advance care planning is a process to help your loved ones know how to speak for you if you are ever unable to make your own medical decisions. Such instances can include if you undergo surgery, get a serious illness or are injured in an unexpected accident. Don Timmons from Trellis Supportive Care will be the presenter and will provide the necessary documents for you to assign a health care power of attorney and create a living will. He will also provide guidance for filling out these forms during the program. Registration is recommended. Register by emailing Sue at deguzmse@forsyth.cc or calling the Lewisville Branch at 336-703-2940.
