The Village of Clemmons has announced that Amy Flyte is the new assistant village manager.

Flyte joined the Clemmons staff in June, bringing 14 years of local government experience in the areas of planning, zoning, development reviews and project management.

She comes to the village from serving as senior planner for Davie County, as well as the towns of Mocksville and Bermuda Run.

Flyte earned a bachelor’s degree from Salem College and a master’s of public administration with a concentration in public management from Appalachian State University. Flyte also completed the Municipal and County Administration Program through the University of North Carolina School of Government.

Village Manager Mike Gunnell announced Flyte’s hiring. “We are so fortunate to welcome Amy to the Village of Clemmons. Amy is a wonderful fit for the village and her extensive experience and knowledge will assist the village in enhancing what Clemmons has to offer its residents,” Gunnell said.

“As a lifelong Forsyth County resident, I am excited to be able to serve Clemmons and be a part of such a remarkable team. Clemmons is an exceptional community and I am honored to have the opportunity to contribute to its continued success,” Flyte said.
