Members of the Kiwanis Club took a tour of Morgan Elementary School last week, the school it adopted in 2020.

Dr. Stephanie Sanders, the principal at Morgan, and assistant principal Ross McNeil conducted the tour.

Over the summer there have been a few changes made at the school. There is new furniture, chrome books and several other goodies in store for returning students. One of the new items of particular interest to the club members was the book vending machine. The club hopes to be able to contribute to that project.

For the past two years Kiwanis of Clemmons has given money to acquire tee shirts for the staff of Morgan. The club members got to see this year’s shirt prior to the staff receiving them.

The collaboration between Morgan Elementary and our club has been a very positive experience for all involved. We look forward to supporting that partnership for many years to come. We would like to wish Dr. Sanders, the rest of her staff and the returning students a wonderful upcoming school year.

The next meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Clemmons will be on September 7 at 8:00 am at the Fellowship Hall of Union Hill Baptist Church, 8494 Lasater Road, Clemmons.

Coffee and light breakfast provided.
