The Clemmons and Lewisville fire departments will be hosting the second annual one-day training academy for Youth Fire Service Programs on Saturday, Sept. 17, giving approximately 50 junior firefighters from 13 departments the opportunity to learn from veteran firefighters and to train under similar conditions as certified firefighters.

The training event will be held at the Forsyth Technical Community College’s Emergency Service Training Center (ESTC) at 3111 Big Oaks Dr. in King beginning at 8 a.m.

The all-day training will consist of multiple scenarios including rapid intervention training, hose line deployment, technical rescue and large area searching led by advisors from the attending departments and local emergency service organizations.

Teenagers and/or parents of teenagers that may be interested in becoming a member of a youth fire service program are invited to come observe and ask questions of the advisers on site.
