The Shallow Ford Foundation has announced that the 2022-2023 application period for competitive grants available to nonprofits serving Clemmons and Lewisville will open on Monday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. and remain open until Oct. 31. Two opportunities are available this year:

Mary Alice Warren Community Center Programming Grants

Grants of up to $2,500 are available to provide affordable and accessible programming at the Mary Alice Warren Community Center in Lewisville.

Eligible organizations do not need to be based in Lewisville or Clemmons, but must be willing to provide programming on-site at the community center. Proposed programs should serve residents of all ages in the Lewisville-Clemmons community; preference is given to programs that are suited to seniors and children/youth.

Last year, grants were awarded to 11 nonprofits who provided programs which included art-based activities for children from local museums, musical performances, art classes for adults and even swing dance lessons. Brian Moore, facilities and programming manager for the community center, shares this on last year’s grant funded programs.

“The Town of Lewisville is very appreciative of the Shallow Ford Foundation’s grant to provide the wide variety of programming for the first year of the Mary Alice Warren Community Center. The programs were a big hit with the community and we can’t wait to continue partnering with the Shallow Ford Foundation to continue offering these great programs.”

Clemmons-Lewisville Community Grants

Grants of up to $6,500 are available for nonprofit organizations that seek to create transformative, long-term, and tangible solutions for unmet community needs and interests in Lewisville and Clemmons. Nonprofits based in Lewisville and Clemmons or nearby which provide programs to the citizens of Lewisville and Clemmons may apply.

Solutions are encouraged to increase organizational capacity, strengthen a sense of community, and have an end goal to become self-sufficient by way of attracting or leveraging additional resources in the future. The foundation will consider new programs or projects as well as the expansion or continuation of impactful programs or projects.

“Thanks to our generous donors, the Shallow Ford Foundation is able to offer grant opportunities that serve the needs and interests throughout Lewisville and Clemmons,” said foundation board chair Tim W. Bell. “We appreciate the generosity of our communities and look forward to working with the selected local organizations that are making a difference.”

Organizations interested in applying for either grant may attend an online information session, which will cover the application process, requirements, and timeline for the grant period. Attendance is not required to apply for a grant, but encouraged.

Both information sessions will be held on Monday, Oct. 3.
The session on the Clemmons-Lewisville Community Grants will take place at 10am and the session on the Mary Alice Warren Community Center Programming Grants will take place at 4 p.m.
