The Clemmons Food Pantry and the Meals for Morgan Backpack program have received gifts totaling $2,100 from two local women’s organizations. The St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Guild and the Columbiettes of Bishop Greco #9499 recently sponsored a Great American Bake Sale at Holy Family Church and donated their proceeds to the local food assistance programs.
“This sale was a huge success,” said Ellen Tommasi of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Guild.
The organizations sponsor this event twice a year to raise funds to combat hunger in the local community. Clemmons Food Pantry and Meals for Morgan Backpack are independent organizations that provide supplemental groceries to families in need.
“We greatly appreciate this support. Clemmons and Lewisville are better off when we all reach out to help our neighbors facing hard times,” said Mike Sullivan, executive director of Clemmons Food Pantry.
