Josh Sellers was recognized on Oct. 26 as the Rotary Club of Clemmons’ Student of the Month for October.

Sellers is an excellent student, is a junior marshal and is in the National Honor Society.

He is a member of West Forsyth High School Marching Band and has received various honor selections including NC All-State Honors Band, Northwest NC All-District Honors Band and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools All-County Honors Band.

Sellers has displayed his leadership and musical skills by being selected as woodwind captain and clarinet section leader of the West Forsyth High School Marching Band. He was also the Key Club junior class representative last year.

Volunteering time for school and community projects is also important to Sellers.

He has volunteered as a Dewey’s Holiday Store volunteer operator.

As a Key Club member, he has volunteered at least 40 hours per school year for programs such as Feed My Starving Children, Adopt-A-Highway Clean-Up, Teacher Appreciation Week, West Campus Clean Up Days, and the Penny Drive for the Salvation Army.

At Center Grove Baptist Church, he is the current co-leader for the 8th grade boys small group and is the only high school student to be selected as a leader. He also established a high school Bible study group that met at his home.

When not participating in school or church-related activities, he is a pet sitter, managing all aspects of caring for someone’s pet and is also a volunteer chemistry tutor.

Sellers has applied to and hopes to attend N.C State University and study chemical engineering, though he has not been accepted yet. He also hopes to become a member of the N.C. State Marching Band if he is admitted.

The Rotary Club of Clemmons congratulates Sellers for his accomplishments and contributions to his school and community.
