Clemmons woman charged for discharging a firearm

On Dec. 26, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 5000 block of Garnet Hill Drive in reference to a call for service regarding discharging firearms. Upon arrival, deputies determined that residents heard loud noises outside their home on Dec. 25 at approximately 7:30 p.m. When the homeowners investigated, they witnessed the neighbor firing a gun on her property. On the morning of Dec. 26, the victims residing at the 5000 block of Garnet Hill Drive discovered interior and exterior damage to their property that they didn’t notice the night before, prompting them to contact law enforcement.
Deputies continued investigating the incident and, after consulting with the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office and the Magistrate’s Office, obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence. Helen Elaine Lindsey, 58, of Clemmons was arrested and charged with felony discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling. She is currently confined to the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond.
