Holiday closings

Village of Clemmons will be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 16. Waste Management will be on normal schedule.

Events

Coffee with a Cop will be held at Chick-fil-A Clemmons on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 9-10 a.m. at Clemmons Chick-fil-A.

Make sure to visit Village Point Greenway this month. Participate in the #getyourselfieoutside event.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors kicks off in February. This monthlong awareness campaign focuses on food insecurity and the many ways to support those in need through the Clemmons Food Pantry.

Meetings

Village of Clemmons Council special meeting (retreat) will be held Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 23 and 24.
The regularly scheduled council meeting will be held on Monday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m. in council chambers.
The regularly scheduled planning board meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m. in council chambers. The Planning board will not meet in January due to a lack of agenda items.

Public works

Weather permitting, the last leaf collection will begin on Monday, Jan. 23.
Weather permitting, the Village of Clemmons will pick up Christmas trees that have been placed at the edge of residents’ yards beginning Monday, Jan. 9, for areas west of Lewisville-Clemmons Road and Middlebrook Drive, and starting Tuesday, Jan. 16, for areas east of Lewisville-Clemmons Road and Middlebrook Drive.

To assist with additional waste, recycling and cardboard, Clemmons’ residents are invited to bring their excess to the Public Works facility between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays).

When available, mulch can be loaded at 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday — please note mulch is only loaded at these times and not throughout the day. Mulch is not available on rainy days. All trucks and trailers must have side walls and be covered (example: with a tarp) before leaving the yard. For mulch availability, call Public Works at 336-766-9170. These services are limited to Village of Clemmons residents, and you may be asked to show ID.

Transportation

Work is underway on the last phase of Market Center Drive (which extends north from Stadium Drive to the ABC Store in front of Aldi). Please exercise caution in the area.

Stormwater

Staff will be completing drainage outfall inspections throughout the Village of Clemmons as part of the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s NPDES Phase II permit throughout the months of December through March 2023 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (weather depending). Activities may include visual observations, photography, creek walking and water quality sampling, primarily at drainage pipe outlets into ditches and water bodies. All stormwater personnel will be wearing reflective vests, driving marked vehicles and carrying identification.
