Despite spring break now being halfway through, the Titans remained busy recently, especially the athletic teams. The varsity baseball team fell to Reagan their last two games before spring break, 3-2 on the road on March 28 and 12-2 at home on March 30. They began their bid in the Mingo Bay Classic Tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C., at St. James High School earlier this week, facing West Potomac on April 3, St. James on April 4 and South Lakes on April 5. Their first game back from break will be against Davie at home on April 11. The varsity softball team shut out Mount Tabor at home 16-0 on March 27, before suffering their first loss of the season, in a close 6-5 defeat on the road against Easy Forsyth on March 28. They bounced back, however, to take down West Stokes at home in another shutout, 10-0 on March 30. They face Forbush on the road on April 12 for their first game after spring break. The girls varsity lacrosse team has stayed hot, with wins against Hough 11-4 at home on March 29 and Glenn 20-3 at home on March 30 to finish off before spring break. The Titans face Reagan on the road on April 11 when they return. The boys varsity lacrosse team finished their last game before break with a 10-2 win over Glenn at home on March 30. They also face Reagan on the road on April 11 for their first game back. The girls varsity soccer team holds the Central Piedmont 4A Conference lead going into the break, with a 2-0 win against Reagan on the road on March 27 and a 5-0 win against Davie at home on March 29. They are set to face off against East Forsyth on the road on April 12 when they return.
The SGA Staff-Student Dodgeball game during fourth period before spring break was a huge success as well, with the association raising more than $3,000 for their Chick-fil-A Spring Impact Project.
When the Titans return from spring break, there are only a few weeks left before big events like prom on April 29, and AP exams, which start the week of May 1. It’s going to be a busy time, so take the rest of this break to refresh yourselves and prepare for the final push to the end of the school year.
