Kiwanis Club of Clemmons membership meetings for March were held on March 1 and 15. The board met on March 8.

March proved to be another active and rewarding month for the club. Some members participated in the monthly Clemmons area Highway Cleanup Project on March 11.

Kiwanis recently joined forces with the Fostering Faith Foundation. Tiffany Birdsong spoke with the club earlier about the needs of her organization. The club was able to purchase and install two large shelving units, which will help her to more efficiently organize and store items to be dispersed to area foster families.

A special boost meeting was offered via Zoom on March 21 by Mary Winfree, the Carolina District Kiwanis membership development chairperson. Mary gave the members attending some great tips for growing the club membership.

Three club members were guests at the Twin City Kiwanis Club’s March 22 meeting. On March 25, some of the members assisted the Clemmons Civic Club with their pancake breakfast.

Member Jim Brosovic attended the Key Club D-Con conference on March 26. Several Key Club members also attended. The Kiwanis club sponsored two Key Club members by paying their dues for the conference. As usual, the Key Club garnered many of the awards given out. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of Director Theresa Bryant and the amazing young people involved.

The Clemmons Kiwanians discussed and further solidified plans for attending Clemmons Community Day to be held at the Jerry Long Family YMCA on April 29. It was decided that a raffle would be held for a $100 gift card and offer free popcorn.

Another item of interest discussed was the ongoing pecan sales. The club still has some one-pound bags of the Terri Lyn high quality, shelled, whole pecans available. The price per bag has been dropped to $12. Anyone interested in purchasing the pecans can contact Chris Billups at billups.chris2@gmail.com.

Membership meetings for May will be held on Tuesday, May 2 and May 16. The Kiwanis Club of Clemmons meets at the Trinity Elms Apartment Complex activity center at 7543 Fair Oaks Drive in Clemmons. Meetings begin at 8 a.m. Anyone interested is welcome to join. Coffee and breakfast items served.
