Master Gardener Volunteer Program — Information Session
• Wednesday, May 24, at 2 p.m.
• Lewisville Branch Auditorium
Calling all gardeners — experienced or novice. Join in for an information session about the Forsyth County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer (EMGV) program. EMGV is a training program dedicated to developing excellence in volunteers through continuing education and community engagement. An initial training course is held once per year and is followed by a required year-long ‘internship’ where new volunteers get connected to current volunteer and education opportunities and fellowship with certified EMGVs. No gardening knowledge is required, only a willingness to learn and volunteer with N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County staff and agents to educate your community.
N.C. Cooperative Extension Agent Anika Parks will present about the format of the Forsyth County EMGV Program, volunteer requirements, the application and interview process, and highlight the volunteer and education opportunities. There will be time at the end of the session for questions, as well as paper applications to fill out. Registration is preferred. To register, email Sue at deguzmse@forsyth.cc or call the Lewisville Branch at 336-703-2940.
