CLEMMONS — A first-of-its-kind summer bash is coming to Clemmons this weekend.

The Village of Clemmons announced plans to host the Summer Shindig event to celebrate the kickoff of summer.

The event will be held at the Jerry Long Family YMCA, located at 1150 S. Peace Haven Road in Clemmons, on Saturday from 5-8 p.m.

Guests are invited to enjoy a free concert from local favorite Hawthorne Curve, who will play songs by Steve Miller, Smashing Pumpkins, The Beatles, The Eagles and many more.

A Kids zone will also be set up for the young ones featuring yard games, Mobile Arcade USA and Rockstar Bubbles. Guests are encouraged to bring a towel.

Several local food trucks will attend the event, so appetites are welcome. Gypsy-Road Brewing Company will have a tent and be serving cold beer.

Chairs and blankets are also encouraged for attendees to have somewhere to sit and soak up the sounds of summer. The event is presented by the Village of Clemmons and sponsored by AM Erectors.
