Child Programs

Toddler Storytime: Mondays at 10 a.m.

Join us for stories, finger plays, songs, and activities designed for small children. Recommended for children ages 0-2 and their caregivers, but all ages are welcome. Toddler Storytime will meet on Mondays at 10 a.m.  For more information, call 336-703-2940.

Mad Science of Central Carolina:

North Carolina Zoo

Teen Programs 

Button-Making for Teens

Throughout the summer, teens can drop in to the Lewisville Branch Library to make their own button. Create a collage, a mantra, or bring in a photo to make a beautiful new button!  Limit 2 buttons per person. Drop-in hours for button-making are 3-5 p.m. on Mondays, starting on June 12. Fresh Ink: A Teen Writers’ Group

  • Fridays starting at 1 p.m.
  • Lewisville Multipurpose Room

Do you have a story to tell? Ever want to start a journal or learn more about how to tell a good story?  Fresh Ink is a new teen writers’ group that will allow you to express yourself in a myriad of ways. Instructor Susan Lewis will guide writers through different writing exercises and prompts, encouraging all types of writing and giving writers insight into areas including publishing and filmmaking.  For ages 12-16.  For more information, please contact Emily at emersoem@forsyth.cc or 336-703-2942.

 

College Foundation of North Carolina: Getting Ready for College: What to do in grades 9-12 to be prepared for college

  • June 27 at 5 p.m.
  • Lewisville Branch Auditorium

Takeila Hall, the College Foundation of NC Regional Representative, will visit to speak on what students need to do in grades 9-12 to get into college and financial aid options. These will be hybrid presentations with an in-person and a virtual option.

Yoga for Beginners

Away We Go! Summer Film Series

Travel the world for free – one movie at a time – from the library. Let us take you places as we host a summer movie series on Monday afternoons. The setting for each movie will be in a different country so that you can get a glimpse of the scenery, people, and customs from around the world. Won’t you join us? Cycling: It’s Never Too Late to Start (Nor Too Early)

Are you a wanna-be cyclist or new to the sport? Come learn the basics – no matter your age. Trevor Hughes, co-owner of Bespoke Cyclery in Lewisville, will share his cycling expertise including bike safety, local routes and trails, equipment, tools for minor repairs on the road, finding a cycling group, and more. The “Magic” of Watercolors (for beginners)

  • June 29 at 2 p.m.
  • Lewisville Branch Auditorium

Join us as local artist Patty Donoghue teaches watercolor painting for beginners. This class will include both instruction and hands-on practice. Donoghue’s goal is for participants to gain interest and confidence in exploring their own art journey while learning several watercolor techniques. An illustrator and fine-art artist, as well as a licensed occupational therapist by trade for many years, Donoghue is mindful of the therapeutic benefits of creating art for reducing stress and anxiety. Supplies will be provided. Registration is required as supplies are limited.
