Events

Artisan Day at the Clemmons Farmers Market will feature weekly favorite vendors as well as many talented artisans. Grab breakfast at the Sur Chilean Food Truck. See you in the Jerry Long Family YMCA parking lot from 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Movie Night in the Village will be held on Aug. 11. Richard Donner’s classic “The Goonies” will be screened. Bring family and join neighbors and friends for a movie under the stars. The movie will begin at sunset (~8:15 p.m.) at the Jerry Long Family YMCA, located at 1150 S. Peace Haven Road. Come early for music, games and concessions. Don’t forget a blanket or chairs.

Concessions include Abbott’s Frozen Custard, Donut NV, Frios, Kaveman Dogs, Southern Charm, Sur Chilean Inspired Food, Sunset Slush and Uptown Pizza.

Clemmons Farmers Market

The Clemmons Farmers Market is open seasonally on Saturdays from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Jerry Long Family YMCA, which is located at 1150 S. Peace Haven Road, in Clemmons. The first Saturday of each month is Artisan Day at the market. The Jerry Long Family YMCA is a tobacco-, dog- and alcohol-free campus. No pets, please.

Meetings

The regularly-scheduled council meeting will be held on Monday at 6 p.m. in council chambers, located at 3715 Clemmons Road.

The regularly-scheduled planning board meeting on Aug. 15 has been cancelled.

The regularly-scheduled board of adjustment meeting will be held on Aug. 9 has been cancelled.

Public works

Limb collection: Limbs should be placed on the edge of your yard by 7 a.m. on Monday morning of the following schedule between March and November.

West of Lewisville-Clemmons Road and Middlebrook Drive (Tanglewood side) — first full week of the month

East of Lewisville-Clemmons Road and Middlebrook Drive (Winston-Salem side) — second full week of the month

To assist with additional waste, recycling and cardboard, Clemmons’ residents are invited to bring their excess to the Public Works facility between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays).

When available, mulch can be loaded at 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday — please note mulch is only loaded at these times and not throughout the day. Mulch is not available on rainy days. All trucks and trailers must have side walls and be covered (example: with a tarp) before leaving the yard. For mulch availability, call Public Works at 336-766-9170. These services are limited to Village of Clemmons residents, and you may be asked to show ID.
