Inaugural First Responders Classic scheduled for Saturday

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), in collaboration with Winston-Salem State University (WSSU), announced the Inaugural First Responders Classic football game on Saturday, Oct. 7. 

The Inaugural First Responders Classic will be held at Bowman Gray Stadium at WSSU for the the match-up between WSSU and Livingstone College, which will kick-off at 1 p.m. There will be a mini-parade at halftime.  

The first 100 first responders through the gate will receive free admission into the game. Additionally, all other first responders can purchase tickets at a discounted rate of $15 with appropriate identification.

Attendees can look forward to various free games and giveaways. There will be multiple activities for children, including a bouncy house, balloon artist, and Horn$ Members will be able to enjoy live music. A mini-parade composed of first responder vehicles will also be a part of the day’s festivities. 

The First Responders Classic aims to unite the community in celebrating and supporting local first responders while enjoying a football game, live entertainment and family-friendly activities. Additionally, all attendees are encouraged to wear pink in recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness month. Breast cancer survivors will be recognized at the game.
