Toddler Storytime

Take & Make Kits for Kids

Kids can pick up a to-go craft kit to make a fun craft!  While supplies last.

STEAM for Teens & Tweens 

  • Oct. 11 at 4:30 p.m.
  • Lewisville Branch Auditorium

Explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math once a month in the STEAM programs. This program will be held every 2nd Wednesday of the month, beginning Oct. 11, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Registration is required.  

EcoEXPLORE: Arachnology 

  • Oct. 17 at 3 p.m.
  • Lewisville Branch Auditorium

The Greensboro Science Center will visit the library on Tuesday to teach children about arachnology and why spiders are so important. This program is made possible through the Greensboro Science Center ecoExplore program. This program is recommended for grades K-8. 

Builders’ Club 

  • Oct. 18 at 3 p.m.

The Lewisville Branch Builders’ Club meets the third Wednesday of every month. Bring your creative building skills and come play. The club has many building supplies, including LEGOs, K’Nex and more. For ages 6-12. Space is limited, so registration is required.  

Pumpkin Search & Find

Can you find all the pumpkins hidden in the children’s room at the Lewisville Branch Library? Find them all, and you win a prize. While supplies last.

Teen programs

Dungeons & Dragons Meetup Group 

  • Oct. 16 and 30 at 3 p.m.
  • Lewisville Branch Auditorium

Have you ever wanted to learn to play Dungeons & Dragons? Are you an experienced player who would like a place to meet up and have adventures?  Join the Lewisville Branch Dungeons & Dragons meetup group. The group will have an experienced Game Master to teach those who want to learn, and character sheets and dice will be provided. All meetups are from 3-5 p.m. at the Lewisville Branch. Chess Club 

  • Oct. 11, 25 at 4 p.m.
  • Lewisville Branch Multipurpose Room

The Lewisville Branch Chess Club meets after school on Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room. Fall dates are Oct. 11 and 25, Nov. 8 and 29, and Dec. 13 and 27. Learn to play or engage in friendly competition. Space is limited, so registration is required. Ages 12-18.

Adult programs

Hook & Loop Group 

  • Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m.

Come and join yarn crafters who like to knit, crochet, embroider and such. Bring your own project to work on or use some simple supplies and patterns that will be on hand. All skill levels are welcome. We share each other’s company and maybe a tip or two about a project. No formal instruction. The Hook & Loop Group meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. 

Yoga for Beginners 

  • Thursday, Oct. 5 and 19 at noon
  • Lewisville Branch Auditorium

Join in at the Lewisville Branch auditorium for two free yoga sessions to help uplift your mind and body during this stressful time. The class is facilitated by a local yoga instructor, Tracy O’Neill of YogaCentrix. Sponsored by the Friends of the Lewisville Library. 

Belly Dancing for Beginnings 

  • Friday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m.
  • Lewisville Branch Auditorium

Learn the basic moves of this beautiful dance form as people of all ages come together to promote health, happiness and community. Suitable for all shapes, sizes and fitness levels. Wear comfy clothes and shoes. This is a free monthly class. Recommended for ages 18 and up but all ages are welcome.

Caregiver Confidence Class 

  • Monday, Oct. 9, from 1-4 p.m.
  • Lewisville Branch Auditorium

Join in as trained staff from Trellis Supportive Care share information and resources to help you gain confidence in your journey providing care for a loved one. This includes keeping medical information organized; medication records, safety and disposal; home safety; fall prevention; maintaining physical and brain health; and caring for yourself. Registration is required. 

Gardening Series: Perennials and Herbs 

  • Oct. 10 at 2 p.m.
  • Lewisville Branch Auditorium

Are you tired of buying new plants every year? Meet the workhorses of the flower garden, perennials and herbs. Betty Ann Falkner, a long-time gardener and the owner of SereneScapes Garden, will teach about sun and shade perennials, how to grow them, divide them and share them with friends. She will also discuss common herbs, how to grow them, and some of their many uses. Registration is encouraged.

Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. – Creating Your Own Serene Space

Color & Coffee   

  • Oct. 13 and 27 at 10 a.m. 
  • Lewisville Branch Library

A morning to relax, color, be with others and enjoy a cup of coffee on the house. Coloring sheets, colored pencils and coffee will be available for participants. Call the branch at 336-703-2940 for more information.

Witchy Washi & Whatnot Crafts 

  • Oct. 18 at 10 a.m.
  • Lewisville Branch Auditorium

Join in to learn how to make fun crafts with washi tape and/or other supplies. This month, special guest Marlene Kuser will show how to make felted soap encasements. Participants are welcome to bring their own brand of soap, otherwise one will be provided along with other supplies. Space and supplies limited to first 12 registrants so be sure to call to reserve your spot.
