The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Battle of Shallow Ford Chapter, awarded Civil Air Patrol Sugar Valley Composite Squadron Cadet First Lieutenant Andrew B. Ellis with the DAR Outstanding Cadet Medal.

The award is given to an outstanding cadet, who has demonstrated academic excellence, dependability, good character, adherence to military discipline, leadership and a fundamental and patriotic understanding of the importance of cadet training.

Cadet Ellis, son of Timothy and Jennifer Ellis, is a high school senior at the North Carolina Leadership Academy in Kernersville and has recently accepted admission to the University of North Georgia Corps of Cadets with intent to commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
