Six West Forsyth athletes sign letters of intent

Wednesday was the first Signing Day of 2023-24 school year and six athletes from West Forsyth signed their National Letters of Intent with their respective colleges, according to Athletic Director Mike Pennington.

Two girls lacrosse players, Coach by Doug Brawley, signed. Bailey Fox signed with Rollins College and Alivia Gurley signed with Liberty University.

Two more girls athletes for the Titans signed to run cross-country and track and field in college. Coached by Nathan Newsome of the Titans, Lillian Douglass signed to go to UNC Greensboro, and Abby Reutinger signed to go to Campbell.

Two baseball players, coached by Brad Bullard last spring, and now coached by Kevin McIntosh, signed on Wednesday. Jack Vest signed to go to East Tennessee State and Logan Rodriguez signed to play at Bluefield State.

Nationally, according to nationalletter.org, the early signing day for basketball and all other NCAA Division I and II sports, except football, was held on Wednesday. The early signing period for basketball ends November 15 and all other sports except football end Aug. 1, 2024.

The early signing period for football starts on Dec. 20 and runs through Dec. 22. Also, Division I and Division II football players, including midyear junior college transfers, have through Jan. 15, 2024, to sign.

The regular signing period for Division I and II football starts Feb. 7, 2024, and for Division I, it runs through April 1, 2024, and for Division II, it runs through Aug. 1, 2024.

The regular signing period for basketball starts April 17, 2024, and runs through May 15, 2024.
