CLEMMONS — A Clemmons day care facility operator that was charged for not having a license now faces two counts of felonious child abuse.
According to a press release from the The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Brittany Danielle Clark, 35, of Clemmons, is currently being held at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center under no bond allowed.
The investigation is ongoing and further confirmed information will be released as appropriate.
On Jan. 25, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office investigators began looking into Clark’s day care, The Nest, located at 6012 Stone Bluff Dr. in Clemmons.
The facility originally received a warning to cease operation from the North Carolina Department of Child Development and Early Education, a division of the N.C. Department of Health & Human Services, in September of 2022 when it was determined the facility was operating as an unlicensed facility within the state of North Carolina.
On Feb. 1, through collaboration with the North Carolina Department of Child Development and Early Education, sheriff’s office investigators discovered “The Nest” was still in operation and had not shut down, even after receiving the warning to cease operation as an unlicensed childcare facility.
