CLEMMONS — Welcome back to campus, Titans.

The fourth quarter is underway, which means the start of AP exam studying, end-of-year events and the final part of the 2024 seasons for the spring athletics. Events to prepare for graduation began this week, with seniors having picked up their caps and gowns in the media center on Monday.

Information also went out about Senior Awards Day on May 24, where seniors will take a class photo and honor students being recognized for awards. The ceremony will be held on the football field for the picture and then in the gym until about 12:30 p.m., when seniors will then be excused from their classes for the remainder of the day. Greater details were also provided about graduation on June 8, where seniors will arrive at 6:30 a.m. to prepare for the 8 a.m. ceremony, and graduation practice the previous day, where students are expected to arrive at 6:30 p.m.

AP exams are now less than a month away and it’s time to start studying. Many teachers are already beginning to review past content in preparation or finishing up the final unit of the curriculum. Even if your teachers haven’t started reviewing in class yet, now is a great time to start thinking of retaking notes, making flashcards or Quizlets or even setting up study sessions with your friends. Starting your studying now will make doing your final reviews of the content a whole lot easier down the road.

Titan athletics are kicking things off again this week after spring break. The girls varsity soccer team sat at an impressive 5-0 conference record heading into their home matchup against East Forsyth yesterday evening. The varsity baseball team visited Parkland on Tuesday coming off of their spring break tournament, where they took wins over Socastee and Penfield, before eventually falling to West Florence, and continued their week at Cornerstone Charter yesterday.

The boys host Parkland Friday for a rematch with the Mustangs. The varsity softball team beat Orange High School 14-10 on the road on Monday coming back from the break, before visiting East Wilkes yesterday night. They are set to take on Glenn on the road tomorrow evening. The boys varsity lacrosse team came back from break hoping to break their ten game losing streak to start the season, with road games against Reagan on Tuesday and West Stokes tonight, as well as a home game against Davie tomorrow to close out the week. The girls varsity lacrosse team, who boasts an almost entirely opposite record of 10-1, has an entirely home schedule this week, having played Reagan on Tuesday, and facing Bishop McGuinness and Davie tonight and tomorrow respectively.

The 2023-24 school year is in its final leg. Let’s finish the year strong, Titans.
