There are 217 new cases and five deaths reported today. Over the weekend, there were 249 new cases and six deaths reported on Saturday, and 304 new cases and one death reported on Sunday. There have been 16,785 laboratory-confirmed cases and 190 deaths in Forsyth County. All cases reported by the Forsyth County Department of Public Health are Forsyth County residents. Of the 16,785, 13,437 are presumed recovered. The case count is subject to change throughout the day but will only be reported once per day in the daily briefing.
The public health director will provide a detailed briefing at 2 p.m. at the beginning of the Dec. 17 board of county commissioners meeting, which will be conducted remotely. The public can listen to and watch the meeting on WSTV-13 or go to https://www.cityofws.org/493/WSTV-13

• Tuesday, Dec. 15, at Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, 421 27th St NW, from 12 p.m.-3 p.m.
• Thursday, Dec. 17 , at EMS Triangle Station (Waughtown), 3260 Kernersville Road, from 12 p.m.-3 p.m.
• Saturday, Dec. 19 , at EMS Triangle Station (Waughtown), 3260 Kernersville Road, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
