Last Friday marked the second football game of the year, but what made this game so special was that it was the first football game that Titan students have been able to attend since late 2019. The county, along with the Titan’s principal Kevin Spainhour, have made tickets available to upperclassmen. Seniors get priority so they could be present at the last games of their high school experience. This plan was a huge success, and students got to see their classmates compete and the Titans handled business, defeating Page High School by a convincing 45-0 margin. Did the fans play a part in this spectacular performance? Let’s ask.

“At the end of the day we have to play regardless; but seeing all of your friends cheering for you in the stands definitely creates a completely different atmosphere. Having fans back makes everything seem just a little bit more normal,” junior linebacker Chris Van Kleeck said.

The return of in-person learning and sporting events has been successful so far and the West students and staff look to continue their positive momentum entering the final stretch of the year.
