The Classic Country Concert Series presented by 98.1 Classic Country is back at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Annex Theatre this year. The series kicks off with John Michael Montgomery and Whiskey Foxtrot on May 14. This will be a historic event, being the first major national touring concert in the triad in over a year.

With the health and safety of guests, participants and community as our highest priority, the fairgrounds staff have implemented multiple changes in line with state and local restrictions. Some of these changes include  seating is spaced 6 feet between parties, less than 50% capacity, masks are required at all times for all guests and staff, all staff and vendors will undergo health/safety screenings, and additional sanitation stations will be available throughout the Annex Theatre.

John Michael Montgomery got his start singing with his brother Eddie, who would go on to become half of Montgomery Gentry. And from the moment his debut album Life’s a Dance dropped, the country singer was the toast of Nashville. Massive hits like “I Love the Way You Love Me,” “Beer and Bones,” and the titular track “Life’s a Dance” propelled the album to triple platinum. “I Love the Way You Love Me” (the album’s second single) was Montgomery’s first No. 1 hit on the Billboard country charts. John Michael Montgomery went on to win multiple, American Music Awards and Country Music Awards.

Whiskey Foxtrot is an aspiring local band with legendary country sounds.
