The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is one where students and teachers alike shift into high gear; the impending close of first semester and the necessity of midterm exams means everyone feels pressed for time to complete their course work. To top off the increased workload, the holiday season is littered with fun events and games to get everyone in the spirit. Throughout the next month, I’ll be letting you know exactly what festive fun the students of West Forsyth are up to. In the meantime, here’s what’s happening this week.

The West Forsyth Marching Titans are sponsoring a Dewey’s Holiday Store in Clemmons. It is located at 2731 Lewisville-Clemmons Road near Clemmons Bicycle and Clemmons Carpet. The store is open now until Dec. 24, and proceeds from the sales directly support the band. So make sure to shop for your holiday sweets at Dewey’s, because you can’t go wrong with a Moravian cookie!

The West Forsyth Key Club is hosting its annual fundraiser for The Thirst Project, an organization that helps provide clean water and sanitation to the nation of Swaziland. The Thirst Project would like to provide these services to the entire nation by 2022, and in order to do so, they require the help of groups like Key Club to provide funding. Individually, the Key Club’s goal is to raise enough money to build one well. If you would like to help, you may send donations in with your student or contact Mrs. Bryant for more information.

The 2018 Nine Muses, the literary magazine of West Forsyth, is now available. This issue was edited and produced by the English Honor Society, which was formed last year. It features student artwork, poetry and prose, and it can be found online on the school’s homepage.
