Children’s programs:
Children’s story times: Join in for great books, finger plays, songs and crafts. Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. for toddlers (ages 18 months to 3 years), Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. for preschoolers (ages 3-5).
Story Time at Night: Join in at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 20, for stories, finger plays, songs and activities. Open to all ages. Story Time at Night takes place on the fourth Monday of every month.
Mother’s Day Origami: The Clemmons Branch Library will be celebrating Mother’s Day with origami cards and flowers. Stop in to the children’s area starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, for this fun craft. This program will be led by Japanese Outreach Initiative Ambassador Nana Watanobe.
Adult programs
Foundations of Investing: Learn about the basics of investing with a representative from Edward Jones at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the Clemmons Branch Library. Welcome to Medicare: If you will be eligible for Medicare soon, join in at the Clemmons Branch Library at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, to learn about the many options available so you can make the choices that are right for you. Depression Seminar: The Clemmons Branch Library will host a community training session on depression at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22. Presented by the NC Geriatric & Adult Mental Health Specialty Team — the same group that presented the Dementia: Accepting the Challenge series.
Book Lovers’ Club: The Clemmons Branch Library’s Book Lovers’ Club meets every first Monday of the month (unless the date falls on a holiday). Join this dynamic group for a great discussion of a selected title. Free and open to the public. The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. June 3 with a discussion of “The Underground Girls of Kabul” by Jenny Nordberg.
Clemmons Cookin’ Club: If you enjoy cooking, come join the Clemmons Cookin’ Club. Come in and choose a recipe from a pre-selected book and a copy will be made for you. Bring in the finished dish on the day of the meeting to share with other members. Expand your palate by tasting all the recipes, connect with people who enjoy cooking, and discuss the recipes. Call the library at 336- 703-2920 if you have questions. The program will last about one hour. The next meeting is at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, in the auditorium at 3554 Clemmons Road, and the club will be making “spring cleaning recipes.” Visit or call the library for more information.

Salem Band concert
On May 14, Salem Band opens its 2019 summer season “If Music Be the Food of Love” with a salute to the Salem College School of Music. Hear music by Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms, as well as selections from “Sound of Music” and Motown. Salem Band Music Director/Salem College Instructor of Music Dr. Eileen Young performs the solo “Saxophobia.” All concerts are in Salem Square, Old Salem, and are free. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Food vendors will be on site. Established in 1771, Salem Band is the oldest, continuous mixed wind ensemble in the nation. Rain date is May 17. Seventh annual NC Camaro Gathering
The seventh annual NC Camaro Gathering will be held on May 30 through June 2 at the Village Inn Hotel and Event Center, 6205 Ramada Dr., Clemmons. Open to all generations of Camaros. Event includes silent auction, ticket raffle, door prizes, live concert and drag racing Friday night.
Spring cleaning

Newcomers and Neighbors meeting
Newcomers and Neighbors of the greater Winston-Salem area holds its monthly meeting on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Coffee and social time is at 9:45 a.m. with meeting to follow. Jam sessions
Farmington Community Center at 1723 Farmington Road in Mocksville hosts a country music and gospel only jam session every Thursday night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The center also hosts a bluegrass jam session every Monday night from 7-9 p.m. Bring whatever instrument you play and join the fun. Cover charge for listeners $2, players are free.
GriefShare program at Clemmons UMC
Clemmons United Methodist Church will host a Griefshare support group meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 13, June 10 and July 8 in the Ministry Center. If you or someone you know is grieving the loss of a loved one, whether it be a parent, child, spouse or sibling, we invite you to join the meeting. Grief is easier when shared. Victory on the Frontline Church
Coffee, juice and pastries are served every Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. Children’s and adult Sunday school starts at 10 a.m.
Worship service with Pastor Michael Duffield begins at 11 a.m. The Wednesday evening “Just As I Am” casual and family service has expanded. Dinner is served at 6:20 p.m., followed by a Bible study led by Pastor Mike from 7-7:45 p.m. Also in the children’s church is a New Kids Program by Tamara Koontz. Kiwanis Club
The Clemmons Kiwanis Club meets at the Trinity Elms Health & Rehab facility at 7449 Fair Oaks Dr. in Clemmons. The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m. Meeting lasts one hour. Call 703- 2921 for any other information.
Clemmons Civic Club
Clemmons Civic Club, one of the areas oldest community organizations, is now open to both men and women interested in serving the Clemmons community. Meeting are held in the civic club building on Middlebrook Drive the fourth Thursday of the month beginning with dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by an informative program. Lewisville American Legion Post 522
Join a community post that supports our veterans and the town of Lewisville. Responsible for the veteran’s memorial and Memorial Day event at the Shallowford Square in Lewisville. Clemmons Food Pantry
The Clemmons Food Pantry, now located at 2585 Old Glory Road, Suite 109, Clemmons, is open Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursdays from 3:30-5 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. People may receive services or drop off donations at these times. www.clemmonsfoodpantry.org
Cross Stitching at Shiloh Lutheran
If you enjoy needle crafting, knit, cross-stitch, crochet and non-sewing blanket projects, consider joining the Busy Hands Group, every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Located at Shiloh Lutheran Church fellowship hall, 703 Lewisville-Vienna Rd, Lewisville, NC 27023. Items donated to sick, needy and shut-ins.
