Center United Methodist Church will present a concert by Frank Voltz at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 15.
Frank Voltz is a multi-talented musician; a concert artist on piano, harp, and organ; an accomplished composer and arranger; and a highly respected clinician and teacher whose love of bringing music into the hearts of all people is only surpassed by his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has been accompanist for The Ohio Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre (NYC), and The Joffrey Ballet (NYC). While working with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, he was assistant ballet conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony under Andre Previn. In addition to performing for President Ronald Reagan (twice), he continues to concertize and is in demand as an accompanist for nationally recognized vocalists throughout the country. As a director of music and versatile church musician, Frank possesses experience in traditional as well as Contemporary Christian music. He has conducted vocal choirs, handbell choirs and orchestras; directed and produced musical productions; arranged choral and orchestral music; and produced a nationally-syndicated Christian television program. As a former church musician in the Washington metropolitan area, Frank was invited by Shirley Dobson to perform for the National Day of Prayer on several occasions.
In concert, Frank is a communicator who introduces each selection of his program with information that the audience can relate to. Frank enjoys the music of contemporary worship but truly loves the enduring hymns of the church. During this concert, guests can expect arrangements of traditional hymns in a fresh, exciting jazzy style that is a welcome change of pace when it comes to church concerts. The concert will be full of fun and humor all while telling the story of God’s love for us and our responsibility to praise him. Frank will display his talent on both the harp and piano. While there is no charge for this event, a love offering will be taken. A light reception to follow in the Family Life Center. Center United Methodist Church is located at 1857 U.S. Hwy. 64 West in Mocksville.
