James Eldrud Chappell

Nov. 27, 1928 – Oct. 27, 2016

Mr. James Eldrud Chappell, 87, died on October 27, 2016, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. James was born in Forsyth County on November 27, 1928, to Charlie Clifton and Ola Myers Chappell. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from R.J. Reynolds in 1989. He enjoyed golfing at the beach and fishing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Leon Chappell, Thurmond Chappell, Donald C. Chappell, and an infant twin brother; and one sister, Grace Walker. Surviving are his loving wife, Bonnie Mecum Chappell; one daughter, Sherry Chappell; special grandson, Billy Lowe; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service was held at Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel on Monday, October 31, 2016, with Rev. Eric Tang officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kate B. Janet Jones Jennings

Feb. 5, 1941 – Oct. 23, 2016

Janet Jones Jennings, 75, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016. She was born in Forsyth County to Aaron and Estelle Jones Jones. She attended school in Forsyth County, and was a graduate of Draughn Business College. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 33 years of service. Janet was a lifelong member of Hope Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, and was involved in numerous organizations and singing groups. Janet is survived by her husband, Daniel Jennings of Lewisville; daughter, Lisa Jennings Robertson (Roby) of Mooresville, NC; granddaughter, Sydney Robertson of Mooresville; sister, Vicky Smith (Mike) of Clemmons; and a niece, Heather Branch (Kenneth) and the boys of Lewisville. Over the past six years, we appreciate all of the love and support of numerous family members and close friends. A celebration of Janet’s life was held Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Hope Moravian Church in Winston-Salem with the Rev. Andrew Heil officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hope Moravian Church, 2759 Hope Church Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27127 or to the Kate B. Eugene Gray Williams

Mr. Eugene Gray Williams, 77, “Gene” of Clemmons, North Carolina passed away, Friday, October 21, 2016 at his home and surrounded by his family. Eugene was born on September 9, 1939 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Norwood E. and Elizabeth (Warden) Williams. He graduated from Glen High School and from Catawba College in 1960. He married the former Doris Zimmerman. Eugene served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He was employed as a Project Manager with RJ Reynolds. He enjoyed gardening and playing with his best friend and dog, Bosley. Eugene is survived by his wife, Doris Zimmerman Williams of Clemmons, NC; two sons, Kenneth Gray Williams of Advance NC; Michael Van Williams of Clemmons, NC; one grandchild, Courtney B. Williams of Winston-Salem, NC; his sisters Nancy Biggers of Charlotte, NC; and Jan Quisenberry of Advance, NC; his brother, Jim Williams of King, NC and several nieces and nephews, as well as his dog, Bosley Williams.
