CLEMMONS —March has arrived, and the Titans are into their final month of the third quarter.

The Girls Service Club held one of its biannual blood drives this past week in the new gym. Over the past few years, since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a shortage of blood throughout the country, so any donations are always vital. Thank you to everyone who came out and donated their blood to help save lives across the U.S.

Wake Forest University’s School of Medicine is inviting WS/FCS students to participate in a survey benefitting their Project MARVEL. The survey will measure health and well-being, both physical and mental, for teenagers, including things like stress and tobacco and vape use. Students must be 18 years or older or have parent permission to complete the survey, and all participating students will receive a $10 electronic gift card. Consider participating to help in the Project MARVEL research.

The varsity baseball team split its schedule last week, winning the season opener 1-0 at Forbush on Feb. 26 and taking a close 7-6 loss to West Stokes on the road on Feb. 29. The boys visited Davie on Tuesday, and will host the War Eagles tomorrow night for their next matchup.

The varsity softball team took an 11-4 win at Elkin in its first game of the season and visited Starmount and West Rowan for their next games on Tuesday and Wednesday. The team hosts Parkland tomorrow for its next game.

The girls varsity soccer team had a lights-out performance in its opener at home, taking down Northern Guilford 9-0 on Feb. 29. The girls visit Hough on Tuesday and are at Apex tomorrow night for their next game.

Keep up the good work this third quarter, Titans.
